We had a great stay over New Year's Eve at The Cell Block. Location in town was great, we were able to explore and were in walking distance to restaurants. We loved the uniqueness of this "bed & booze" and really appreciated all of the details. Great evening on rooftop with fire pit and provided wine as and whiskey. It was cold out that night, about 44°. Hosts provided several space heaters along with installed heater. We had a very comfortable night and a great night's sleep. We brought our own horse blankets and warm outdoor wear to enjoy the rooftop at night. Very high quality stay and attentive hosts who were easy to get a hold of to answer any questions or give recommendations.

This town is a hidden gem. We experienced an old fashioned downtown Soda Shop, Olaf’s Restaurant and of Course our stay at The Cell Block. This quaint little jail is a very cool and unique place to stay. Star gazing on the rooftop with a glass of wine is hard to beat. Kristen the Jailer (guest services) is very accommodating and will provide you with any details you may need. Kristen was able to book us a couples massage last minute on a Sunday! We enjoyed our 23rd Anniversary in one of the friendliest towns in Texas!! Joey & Theresa~Tyler,Tx

Our stay at The Cell Block was great! We were greeted with a leaky AC unit, but Kaye was quick to come to our rescue and remedy the situation! The town of Clifton was just starting to open up due to Covid-19. Everyone was so nice and hospitable. The rooftop fire pit was definitely one of our favorites =} Will definitely recommend to friends and family!

Definitely a unique experience! I loved the small details like the cold glass for the whiskey and the don't drop the soap. The location is amazing! Extremely quiet and peaceful. Dinner and breakfast right around the corner. Make sure you book when it isn't raining so you can use the prison yard. The only reason I took one star off was because of the price. I would recommend closer to 175 or make arrangements with the cafe for a free breakfast.

The Cell Block, in the middle of the unique town of Clifton, TX, was an amazing stay. Between the wine, whiskey, and extra "jail cell" touches it was such a unique experience. The staff even went out of their way to help me and my fiancee celebrate our engagement! I also highly recommend Olaf's for dinner (just a few steps away) if you are staying at the Cell Block.

We stayed 1 night in The Cell Block. It was so much fun! They've really committed to the jail theme, and we loved it. There's a record player, and jail/outlaw/crime themed records. It really added to the atmosphere. This was the last night of our 12 day vacation, and the 5th hotel we stayed in. This suite was the most thoughtfully appointed of all the rooms we stayed in. A flask of whiskey (ice cubes provided in the mini fridge, as well as a chilled tumbler with whiskey stones), wine (corkscrew and wine glasses provided). There were so many other details that made our stay comfortable and pleasant. The mattress is memory foam, and I slept better than I had since leaving home. There was a slight hiccup with check-in, but it was resolved quickly and didn't impact our stay. Clifton is a cute little town, and although we didn't eat at Olaf's, the menu looked great. We did get takeout from Royal Pizza, and it was great. We loved our stay, and we will definitely be back. Thank you!

Our trip was a birthday surprise for my guy. Imagine his surprise when he found out we were spending the night in jail. We had the best evening here. The accommodations do not disappoint. The rooftop patio with a fire pit made for a wonderful end to our day. We will stay here again. The owners are the best and so friendly. We also had made reservations to eat at Olaf's. It's within walking distance of The Cell Block. This is a must! We were there on a Saturday night. Live music and delicious food!

Our 2 night stay at The Cell Block far exceeded our expectations! It was completely relaxing & I highly recommend a stay here just to experience the novelty in the venue! We will be back for sure! My husband would not stop talking about how cool it was, taking tons of photos & videos. I loved the décor styling and all of the small touches that the owner put into the unit, such as the bars of soap with a tag "DON'T DROP" - it was hilarious! The theme is carried out in a very clever IG-worthy way! It was very well-maintained & the bed was super comfortable! We were given very precious instructions (along with very prompt correspondence from the owner because I made a mistake on our booking). And yes, there was everything we needed to enjoy our stay including wine, whiskey & kitchen items needed to enjoy those. We loved the rooftop both nights! Felt like we were the only ones in the town, very cool! A sweet neighbor lady across the alley came out both nights to briefly chat with us as she watered her flowers. Very charming! We made a game out of looking at the "mugshots" on the perp wall (polaroid camera provide to take your own) - trying to find someone we knew! Fun to see for sure! I love finding unique places to stay (old train depot in Indiana, old monastery in OKC, old brewery in Milwaukee, storage containers in Texas) & I am telling you, this place does not disappoint at all! NAILED IT!!! Again we will be back and have had so many people ask us about our stay! Do yourself a favor & book a night in jail! Be sure to plan for a day trip to Waco (45 minutes away). Keep in mind the local winery is only open Thurs-Sat I believe. We were hoping for more shops or the small movie theater to be open. We loved breakfast at Corner Drugstore Café (food was excellent both days & make sure to get baked goods to take back to the jail for late night snack). One night we went for appetizers & cocktails at Olaf's but were disappointed in the food but it was something to do.
